Rotary District 7080 Passport South

Hello Rotarians! As summer draws to an end, our new Rotary year is just beginning! We are delighted to announce some exciting projects and brainstorm new ways to make a difference in our communities locally and abroad.

This year, we are thrilled to be starting off the
Rotary year with Jane McCormick as our President.
With an extensive background in finance and over thirty years of experience in small business consulting in the private and not-for-profit sectors Jane McCormick is the new President of the Passport South Rotary Club. She holds leadership roles with McCormick Consulting Group, Ormond Industrial Tools Ltd, and the charity Help Heal Humanity. McCormick went back to school to study Psychology and Political Economy to gain a more in-depth knowledge of mental health issues and vulnerable populations in need. She is currently in her last year. As a relatively new Rotarian, McCormick is thrilled to be a part of the Rotary family and looks forward to her new leadership role.

A warm welcome to our new Leadership Board 2021-2022

Rotary D7080 Passport Club Mentorship 2021-2022

We are excited to announce that the Rotary D7080 Passport Club Mentorship 2021-2022 program will be starting in September.

As a member of our club, we wanted to ask if you would be interested in joining us as a mentor for this upcoming session. The program will run from October 2021 to May 2022. As a mentor, you would be expected to meet your mentee for a minimum of 6 one hour sessions. You will also be invited to an introduction session in October (online) and a celebration event in May 2022.

We are currently accepting applicants for both mentors and mentees and as in past years will be matching mentees with mentors based on interest/common background. There is therefore no guarantee that you will be matched with a mentee for this session. If you are not matched, we will keep your name on file for future programs.

If you are interested in participating as a mentor, please reply to us by September 3, 2021.

Fundraisers:

1) SHELTERBOX AND ROTARY are official project partners in INTERNATIONAL DISASTER RELIEF
The project partnership between ShelterBox and Rotary International (RI) provides a way to collaborate and combine resources to promote emergency disaster relief worldwide by assisting disaster survivors during the critical period immediately following a disaster.

2) Help Heal Humanity EMERGENCY Haiti Fund Relief

Help Heal Humanity is acting quickly to pull together an emergency response team to help dig through rubble, and provide emergency aid, food, shelter, and medical relief. Adding to the urgency, a tropical storm has complicated the relief efforts with further flooding and destruction. Our very own member, Serena is on the grounds of Haiti supporting their needs. Please consider donating to the link below.

3) Give the gift of Rotary this year at https://my.rotary.org/en/donate

Next Meeting: September 16th General Meeting: Meet in Person @ Lions Valley Park- More details to come!
