Solar Safe Water Fundraiser

The Passport Club South is very pleased to be the first Club in Canada to support this outstanding project!

ESRAG and WASH-RAG are challenging the entire Rotary family to support Solvatten’s project in Kenya and the province of Tharaka. One Solvatten solar safe water heater, supports one family with hot and safe water for 7 years. In addition, using it cuts the family’s carbon emissions, saves habitats and the family benefits in health, equality and wealth.
The Solvatten heater’s great impact on sustainable development according to UN’s Agenda 2030 is amazing. And it also supports all of Rotary’s 7 area of focus.

One heater supports one family. What is the impact of 10,000 heaters?
  • 10,000 families have access to hot and safe water for 7 years (lifetime)
  • 500,000 trees are saved
  • 70,000 tonnes of GHG emissions are prevented
  • The 10,000 families will avoid 3,000,000 sick days
  • The 10,000 families save $10,000,000

If you wish to make an individual donation please send an e-transfer marked "Solar Safe" to:

September is Blood Donation Month in D7080

During the month of September, your Community Service team is encouraging all clubs and all Rotarians to give the gift of LIFE to others and donate blood! Blood Banks are desperate for donations!

No problem if you can’t donate, but great if you can encourage family and friends to join in and donate too!

Go to https://www.blood.ca/en for locations and more information! Let’s see if we can really get our local blood banks back on track!

Register for RLI Training – Saturday, October 23, 2021

WHAT IS RLI? The Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) is a series of fast-paced, interactive, one-day courses offered to increase a Rotarian’s knowledge base, and to refine individual leadership skills. Courses are fun, topical, interactive, and geared toward busy business professionals who want to be more effective leaders in their vocation and to be a more confident and knowledgeable Rotarian.

WHY RLI? Your District Training Committee is a major support to you and your club members, providing events, speakers and resources which address every aspect of your Club’s life.  RLI training is a key component of the individual Rotary journey.  It is a 3 session course (RLI1, RLI2 RLI3) that provides insights into every aspect of Rotary.  It is also a superb opportunity to meet fellow Rotarians from across the District.  The fellowship and exchange of ideas are always electric!

WHEN ARE THE NEXT RLI TRAINING SESSIONS?  Saturday October 23, 2021 at The DoubleTree by Hilton in Kitchener. Registration will start at 8am.  We will be holding sessions for RLI1, RLI 2 and RLI 3.  These 3 courses are successive and once RLI 3 is completed, you will receive a Rotary Leadership Institute certificate of completion.
