Rotary Passport South Mentorship Program Testimonial

Patricia’s mentee, Tingyu(Annie) Yang provided such meaningful feedback;

“Since I joined the Rotary Mentorship Program three years ago, Patricia has been beyond just an exceptional mentor to me. As an international student searching for an internship in Canada for the first time, she accompanied me throughout the job searching journey with great patience and care. Not only did she connect me with industry professionals, she also offered me useful career advice and insights which benefitted me immensely. On top of that, her kind words and constant support whenever I doubted myself gave me enormous strength to get back on my feet. In addition to career support, she is also a confidant and life mentor to me. I am extremely grateful that we celebrated and will continue to celebrate our achievements in life together. But more importantly, her grace, wisdom and optimistic life attitude influenced me and guided me through difficult moments in life. The mentorship I received from Patricia is highly impactful and I highly recommend the mentorship program!” - Tingyu(Annie) Yang

This year, The Rotary Action Group Against Slavery Canada (RAGAS) will be walking for Elora House (elorahouse.com)
Elora House provides safe housing and support for individuals who identify as women and who are victims of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
Sign up to join the RAGAS team at https://cnoy.org/location/elora, or support a local charity in your neighbourhood. Visit cnoy.org for more information.

Beyond Net Zero, The Canada Human Trafficking Declaration

As part of a joint effort to combat Human Trafficking (HT) and Forced Labour Slavery, the Rotary Action Group Against Slavery (RAGAS), #NotInMyCity (NIMC), International Justice Mission Canada (IJM), and The Mekong Club will be hosting a two-day Canadian symposium entitled: "Beyond Net Zero: The Canada Human Trafficking Declaration" at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg at the beginning of April.

RAGAS, NIMC, IJM Canada, and The Mekong Club are partnering to create scalable, sustainable, and measurable solutions that close the justice gaps for people in our communities who are vulnerable to violence and exploitation. This inaugural event will provide an opportunity for collaboration with other Canadians and international change makers to disrupt and end Human Trafficking and Forced Labour Slavery.

Enjoy keynotes from National and International HT sector leaders on the cutting edge of combating Human Trafficking, including insights from those who have endured and survived being Trafficked. Hear from notable government and crime prevention representatives, as well as industry leaders from across the globe. Join us as we make this important commitment together.

We invite you to join us on the second day of the two-day Canadian symposium on April 3rd, 2023.
